Go Ask Alice by Anonymous

Publisher: Prentice Hall

Genre: Bildungsroman (coming-of-age); drug-alcohol; Non-Fiction Diary

Where I got it: My friend Danelia Martinez recommended this book for me, then I got it from my school's library.

One sentence summary: Alice is a girl who starts writing a diary, with daily entries, throughout the book Alice talks about drugs, pregnancy, alcohol issues…etc. Further on the book the consequences of her actions are shown, this is a book based on facts.

First sentence: Yesterday I remember thinking I was the happiest person in the whole earth, in the whole galaxy, in all of God's creation.

First chapter review: Since my book is on date entries I'm going to talk about the first month, which is September, in this month Alice is just a regular girl. She makes 6 entries. She first talks about her boyfriend dumping her and how she feels like her world is all destroyed, she doesn't do anything on her birthday which was the September 20th. That's mostly all that happens on that month.

Verdict: I totally recommend this book to everyone who is interested on this topic. There might be some harsh scenes but it can really help out someone who is in trouble, in the future. This book is a really interesting and amazing book, you wont get tired of it until you finish reading it.

Cover comments: The cover is all black with half of a face on the right side probably Alice, this cover shows the darkness of Alice's life because of the black color, in the picture the girl seems to be sad it might be because in several parts of the book Alice shows her regret.
